What Zonday is
Zonday is a daily web puzzle built around real Amazon products. Each day, one featured item is presented, and your goal is to guess its Amazon asking price in US dollars. You have up to 6 guesses, and after each one you receive feedback: arrows tell you whether the actual price is higher or lower than your guess, while a temperature emoji indicates how close you are, ranging from ๐ฅ for very close to โ๏ธ for far away. A guess counts as correct if it lands within 1% of the actual price or within $3 of it โ specifically, items under $300 must be guessed within $3, while items at $300 or above must be guessed within 1%. Alongside the puzzle, you can see the product's rating and review count, which may offer hints about the kind of item you're pricing. When you're done, you can share your results or open the product's Amazon page to see the actual listing. A new item appears daily at midnight UTC, and a Custom Challenge mode is available if you want more than the daily puzzle.
How to play
Each day, Zonday presents one featured Amazon product. Your task is to estimate its US asking price. Enter a dollar amount as your guess and submit it. After each guess, you'll see two kinds of feedback: arrows showing whether the real price is higher or lower than what you entered, and a temperature emoji showing how close you are โ ๐ฅ means very close, โ๏ธ means far away, with intermediate temperatures in between. You can view your previous guesses at any time to track your narrowing range. You have up to 6 guesses per product. A guess is correct if it falls within 1% of the actual price or within $3: for items priced under $300, being within $3 counts as correct; for items at $300 or more, being within 1% counts as correct. If you solve it or run out of guesses, you can share your results, and you can open the product's Amazon page to see the real listing. A new featured item arrives daily at midnight UTC, and Custom Challenge mode offers additional products to price.
Tips
- Use the arrows first to bracket the price: they tell you definitively whether the real price is above or below each guess.
- The temperature emoji tells you how tight your bracket already is, so you can decide whether to fine-tune or make a bigger jump.
- Adjust your precision to the price range: items under $300 only need to be within $3, while items at $300 or more need to be within 1%.
- The product's rating and review count are shown with each item, and they can help you identify what kind of product you're pricing.
- If you want more than the daily item, Custom Challenge mode lets you keep pricing products.
