What MusicVidle is
MusicVidle is a daily music puzzle that swaps audio for pictures. Instead of hearing a clip, you see a single still frame taken from a music video and must work out which song it comes from. If your first guess is wrong, another frame from the same video is revealed, up to a maximum of six images. The goal is to identify the song title before your guesses run out. Each day features one new song, and after playing you can share stats such as your streak and guess distribution. It was created by Maik Zehrfeld of LangweileDich.net and draws inspiration from Wordle and Heardle.
How to play
Each day presents one song to identify, starting with a single still frame from its music video. Look over the image and enter a song title as your guess using the search to select it. If you are unsure, you can skip instead. Every wrong guess or skip reveals the next frame from the video, up to a maximum of six images in total, and you have up to six guesses to name the song. After each guess, feedback tells you whether at least one word of your answer is correct, which can help steer you toward the right title. You can zoom in on any image with your mouse or finger to examine details more closely, and you can re-watch previous images by clicking their numbers. The round ends when you name the song or run out of guesses.
Tips
- Zoom in on each frame to catch small details like background objects, clothing, or on-screen text that might identify the artist or era.
- Use the feedback about a correct word to refine your guess toward titles that share wording with your previous attempts.
- Re-watch earlier frames by clicking their numbers to compare details across all the images revealed so far.
- If a frame gives you nothing, skipping moves you closer to the next image, which may be far more recognizable.
Common questions
How many images and guesses do I get each day?
Each daily puzzle uses a maximum of six still frames from the music video, and you have up to six guesses to identify the song. Each wrong guess or skip reveals the next frame.
What happens if I only get part of the song title right?
The game gives feedback indicating when at least one word of your guess is correct, so a partially right answer can still point you in the right direction.
Can I play more than one song per day?
There is one daily song per day, so each day offers a single puzzle to solve.
Does MusicVidle play any audio?
No. The game uses still frames from music videos instead of audio, so identifying the song is purely a visual challenge.
Can I share my results?
Yes. The game offers shareable stats, including your streaks and guess distribution.
Where can I play MusicVidle?
It is a free web game, so you can play it in a browser without installing anything.
