Overview

What Musicle is

Musicle is a web-based music guessing game built around album recognition. Each day presents 3 secret albums, and your job is to identify each one by listening to a short sample of one of its tracks and picking the album you believe it belongs to. When a guess is correct, the next secret album appears in a new column, so a session unfolds one solved album at a time. Beyond the daily format, Musicle offers two modes and a range of musical flavors: you can play regular rounds with one song and 4 options, or take on Royale mode, where you hear 6 samples and must match them among 9 albums with no room for error. Flavor choices such as jazz, classical, K-pop, soundtracks, Brazilian genres, and video game music let you tailor the challenge to the music you know best. Album information and audio samples are drawn from the Apple Music API, and extras like the weekly Musicle League, recent stats, and an optional one-time-payment Premium round out the experience.

Getting started

How to play

Start by choosing how you want to play. In the standard daily game, 3 secret albums wait to be identified. Tap the play icon to hear a sample from a track on the hidden album, then decide which album it belongs to. If you need a closer look, tap an album cover to view it larger and read its details before committing. When you have made up your mind, tap My guess to confirm. A correct guess reveals the album and the next secret album appears in a new column; you keep going until all 3 are solved. In Royale mode the structure changes: you listen to 6 samples and pick the matching albums from 9 shown on screen, confirming your selections with the Heard it! button. One wrong click in Royale ends the game, so accuracy matters more than speed. If you want a tougher test of your ear, toggle Challenge Mode to shorten all samples to 5 seconds, and hard mode is available as an additional challenge. You can also pick a flavor such as jazz, classical, K-pop, video game music, soundtracks, or Brazilian genres to focus the game on a genre you know well.

Practical help

Tips

  1. Use the album cover view before guessing: tapping a cover shows it larger with details, which can help you weigh your options.
  2. Save Royale mode for when you are confident, since a single wrong click among the 9 albums ends the game.
  3. If 5-second snippets sound appealing, turn on Challenge Mode; if you are still building your ear, the standard sample length gives more to work with.
  4. Pick a flavor you know deeply, like jazz or video game music, to give yourself the best shot at quick recognition.
Quick answers

Common questions

How many albums do I guess each day?

Each day features 3 secret albums. After a correct guess, the next secret album appears in a new column, so you work through them one at a time.

What is the difference between Regular and Royale mode?

In Regular mode you listen to one song and choose from 4 options. In Royale mode you hear 6 samples and pick the matching albums among 9 on screen, and one wrong click ends the game.

What does Challenge Mode change?

Challenge Mode shortens all samples to 5 seconds, making recognition harder. Hard mode is also available as an extra challenge on top of the standard rules.

Can I play music other than mainstream pop?

Yes. Musicle offers flavors including jazz, classical, soundtracks, K-pop, Brazilian genres, and video game music, so you can focus on the genres you know best.

Is Musicle free to play?

Musicle is freemium and playable on the web. An ad-free Premium option is available through a one-time payment if you want to remove ads.

Does the game track my progress?

Yes. Musicle keeps stats and a history of your last two weeks of selections, and the Musicle League provides weekly rankings that update every Friday.
