What is Crowdle?
Crowdle asks you to think like a crowd instead of a dictionary. Every day there is a new prompt that 10,000 people answered, and your job is to find the four most popular responses. You type word guesses that match the prompt, and the game tells you whether each one made the crowd's top four. Guesses are unlimited, so you can keep working through possibilities without penalty. If you get stuck, you can spend one of three hints, each revealing another letter of the next answer you are missing. When a guess is close but not on the board, it shows up as a close answer below the grid, giving you a nudge toward the crowd's wording. It is free to play in a browser, no account needed, and past prompts stay in an archive you can revisit.
How Crowdle works
- Goal
Find the four most popular answers that 10,000 people gave to the daily prompt.
- Your moves
- Type word guesses matching the prompt
- Use a hint to reveal a letter of the next answer
- Review close answers below the grid
- Share your score
- Play archived past prompts
- Reading the feedback
- A found answer
- Your guess matched one of the crowd's top four responses.
- A close answer below the grid
- Your guess was related but not in the top four, showing you are near the crowd's wording.
- A revealed letter from a hint
- A new letter of the next answer you have not found yet.
- When a round ends
A round finishes when you have found all four top answers, after which you can share your score; a new prompt arrives each day and past ones stay in the archive.
Your first round
- Read the daily prompt that 10,000 people answered.
- Type a real-word guess that fits the prompt and see whether it is one of the top four.
- Check below the grid for close answers if a guess was related but not found.
- Spend a hint to reveal a letter of a missing answer if you get stuck.
- Keep guessing until all four answers are uncovered, then share your score.
Easy to miss
- Related answers are grouped as aliases, so an alternative wording of the crowd's answer can count.
- Guesses outside the top four are not failures — they appear as close answers below the grid.
- Hints reveal letters of the next unfound answer, not random ones.
- Earlier prompts remain playable in the archive.
