What is Chronle?
Chronle is a free daily web puzzle about history and sequencing. Each day you receive a set of historical events drawn from various periods, and your job is to arrange them in chronological order — the earliest event at the top, the latest at the bottom. You have 6 moves to get the ordering right. Drag events into the order you believe is correct, submit, and the game tells you which events are in the right position and which are not. Use that feedback to refine your ordering on the next move. Everyone gets the same events each day, and a fresh puzzle appears at midnight UTC.
How Chronle works
- Goal
Place each daily historical event in chronological order, earliest at the top and latest at the bottom, within 6 moves.
- Your moves
- Drag an event by its 6-dot handle to reorder the list
- Submit your ordering for feedback
- Rearrange flagged events and submit again within the move limit
- Reading the feedback
- Green highlight
- That event is in its correct chronological position.
- Accent color
- That event is in the wrong position and needs to be moved.
- When a round ends
The round is won when all events sit in the correct order; it ends unsuccessfully if the 6 moves run out first. A new puzzle arrives at midnight UTC.
Your first round
- Read the day's events and study the historical image shown with each one.
- Drag events by the 6-dot handle so the earliest is at the top and the latest at the bottom.
- Submit the ordering and check which events turn green and which are marked with the accent color.
- Move the flagged events and submit again, working within your 6 moves.
- Finish the round when every event is green, or when your moves run out.
Easy to miss
- The move limit is 6, and every submission uses one move — plan reorders rather than guessing.
- The drag handle is the 6 dots on the right side of each event.
- Games reset at midnight UTC, so the same puzzle is shared by all players until then.
- Each event includes a historical image that can hint at its era.
