What is Balanced?
Balanced is a daily physics estimation game where you guess the balance point of an irregular shape. Each shape is weighted unevenly, heavy at one end and hollowed at the other, so its true balance point reflects weight distribution rather than the visual middle. Your task is to position a fulcrum where you think the object would hold level, then release it and watch how far it tips. The further the object tips from your chosen point, the worse your score for that shape. You get five shapes a day, with one attempt each, and the same five shapes are given to everyone that day. It is free to play in a web browser and is part of a set of six free daily estimation games on Freehand.
How Balanced works
- Goal
Find the point where each irregular shape would hold level on a fulcrum, scoring better the less it tips.
- Your moves
- Slide the fulcrum along the object to a chosen point
- Let go to release the object
- Watch the object tip and receive your score
- Reading the feedback
- Tipping animation
- Shows how far the object tipped from your chosen point, revealing how close you were to the true balance point.
- Score
- Based on how far the object tips; a small tip means your placement was close to the balance point.
- When a round ends
Each shape ends after your single attempt, when the object tips and your score is recorded. A new set of five shapes arrives each day.
Your first round
- Look at the first of the day's five shapes and consider where its weight sits, noting it is heavy at one end and hollowed at the other.
- Slide the fulcrum along the object to the point you think would hold it level.
- Let go to release the object.
- Watch the tipping animation to see how far it tipped from your chosen point.
- Receive your score for that shape and move on to the next one.
Easy to miss
- The balance point reflects weight distribution, not the visual middle of the shape.
- You get only one attempt per shape, so commit carefully before releasing.
- Shapes are deliberately irregular, heavy at one end and hollowed at the other.
- Everyone gets the same five shapes each day.

Balanced FAQ
Is Balanced free to play?
Yes, it is free and runs in a web browser. It is one of six free daily estimation games on Freehand.
How many shapes do I get each day?
You get five shapes per day, and each shape allows one attempt. The same five shapes are given to everyone on that day.
Can I retry a shape if my guess is wrong?
No, there is one attempt per shape. Once you release the fulcrum, the object tips and your score is set based on how far it tipped.
Where should I place the fulcrum?
Place it where the object's weight distribution would hold it level. The balance point is not the visual middle, since shapes are heavy at one end and hollowed at the other.
How is my score calculated?
Your score is based on how far the object tips from the point you chose. A smaller tip means a better result.
