What is Rikivo Words?
Rikivo Words is a free web word puzzle played on a grid of 25 letter tiles. Your goal is to spell a series of words of the shown lengths, in the order shown, while using every tile on the board exactly once. The twist is how the words connect: the last letter of one word must be the starting point of the next, so the whole solution forms one continuous path through the grid. You are not left guessing where letters go, either. The shade of the square you leave behind tells you how far away the next letter is: white means the next letter is 1 square away, light grey means 2, and dark grey means 3. Movement is restricted to horizontal and vertical steps, never diagonal, which turns each word into a small routing problem as well as a vocabulary one. You select letters to spell each word in order, and you can undo your last move or reset the puzzle if a path dead-ends. When you finish, you can share your result, and there are separate practice puzzles kept apart from the daily one, along with streak and best-time tracking for players who like to keep a record.
How Rikivo Words works
- Goal
Spell words of the shown lengths, in order, using all 25 letter tiles exactly once in one continuous path.
- Your moves
- Select letters to spell each word in order
- Move horizontally or vertically between letters
- Undo the last move
- Reset the puzzle
- Share or replay the result
- Reading the feedback
- White square
- The next letter is 1 square away.
- Light grey square
- The next letter is 2 squares away.
- Dark grey square
- The next letter is 3 squares away.
- When a round ends
A puzzle is complete when all 25 tiles have been used exactly once and every word has been spelled in order; you can then share or replay it.
Your first round
- Check the shown word lengths to see how many words you must build and in what order.
- Select letters to spell the first word, stepping horizontally or vertically between tiles.
- Read the shade of each square you leave to confirm the next letter is the right distance away.
- Continue into the next word from the last letter of the previous one, keeping the chain going.
- Undo or reset if a route stops working, and finish once all 25 tiles are used exactly once.
Easy to miss
- The last letter of one word is the first letter of the next, so words are not solved independently.
- The shade clue applies to the square you leave, not the one you arrive on.
- Diagonal steps are never allowed, even when a letter is close by.
- Every tile must be used exactly once, so leaving a tile unused means the puzzle is not finished.
